Welcome to Ananás

 

Let us introduce ourselves: Lana de Souza (English/Indian in ethnicity) & Rosanna D'Souza (Swedish/Indian in ethnicity). The perfect blend of East meets West!

 

Born & raised in Goa, our friendship goes all the way back to our schooldays. We often talked about wanting to start a clothing label but life got in the way and we never really had the time. Forced to step back from our normal lives we realised we had the gift of time and decided this was a perfect opportunity to try to fulfil our childhood dream with our combined creativity - We launched Ananás in 2020 during the lockdown!

 

Lana loves bold styles and colours whilst Rosanna prefers a more understated look. We realised that by collaborating we could come up with something unique showcasing our Indo-Western heritage.

 

Ananás clothing and designs are ideal for tropical climates as the fabrics are breathable & light. We loved the idea of sourcing locally made authentic Indian material. The majority of our fabrics range from silk saree to cotton base to traditional hand-block dyed mulmul cotton and are sourced from various states throughout India.

 

Our collection is styled in the Goan “susegad” way of life – beach during the day & party at night!  Hence our clothes are ideal for vacations with outfits for resort wear, beach wear & evening wear. Most of our clothes can be mixed & matched to create multiple boho, comfortable yet stylish looks.

 

2020 taught us to embrace change whether good or bad. That is what ultimately led to the birth of our brand “Ananás”. We love the creative freedom that building this has given us as it has truly helped us to rediscover our love for Goa & our heritage, which is now being showcased through the brand!
